Supporting creatives
In uncertain times many young people from creative fields have been unable to showcase their final year projects due to Covid-19 lockdown. Education establishments not only remain part-closed, but have moved on to new student cohorts. Alongside closed galleries this means creative careers have stalled. This programme gives power back to young people by equipping them with the skills and resilience needed to adapt to a changing world.
The programme
The programme lays the foundation for control of an individual’s destiny and the tools for establishing a resilient business. The enterprise programme develops the knowledge, skills and confidence for participants to tackle whatever comes next. All participants must have a connection to the local area as a resident (past or present) or through their educational journey.
Funding and publicity
The Creative Showcase programme charges a nominal fee of £75 to participants, while raising the majority of funds from individual fundraising before, during and after the event, as well as commission on product/service sales at the showcase exhibition. Any funding shortfall is covered by a creative grant.
After the showcase event all participant work is added to a micro-site to leverage further sales, profile-raising and enhanced future value of the programme for the benefit of past and present participants.
