Boost:ed develops skills in enterprise and employability through a programme of masterclasses, workshops and resilience-building, that culminates in a participant-led event in Waltham Forest.
Boost:ed can be a stepping-stone to the BOOST service from CRATE, which provides practical information, support and guidance for start-ups and small businesses.
Our Programmes

Six month paid work placements at local businesses
Kickstart: the government’s new six-month paid work placement scheme for unemployed 16-24 year olds, which runs until 30th June 2022. This programme is operated and delivered by Project Zero Waltham Forest CIC and CRATE, providing employers and participants with practical support, workshops and training to maximise young peoples’ chances of moving from Universal Credit to employment.

Three-month creative enterprise and exhibition programme
Creative Showcase: A weekly 10-part workshop programme delivered in-person for twenty young creatives in East London. Relevant disciplines include art, photography, fashion, performing arts, music and film. This programme is led by CRATE and MVP Workshops with expert facilitators and concludes with a large-scale exhibition of participant work at CRATE St James Street, a Covid-safe vibrant outdoor/indoor environment. Eligibility is aimed at 16-24 year olds and newly graduated creatives.

Enterprise and career workshops with local business introductions
16-19 Enterprise (coming soon): A programme for local 16-19-year-olds at college and schools in East London, starting with an enterprise workshop and progressing to voluntary-attendance workshops on employability and resilience. A final multi-cohort networking event in a neutral, vibrant, setting with local business owners/managers provides an opportunity for progression to placements, apprenticeships and paid work. This programme is being developed and delivered with CRATE partner charities.
